We are fortunate enough to live and work in the most beautiful and inspiring environment in Britain – a ducal palace set within 750 acres of landscaped gardens. We have recently invested more than £30m to enhance our educational and boarding facilities. The Henry Worsley Science Centre opened in January 2017 and has taken its place alongside the award-winning Music School and recently refurbished Art School and Roxburgh Theatre. New boarding houses include Queen’s, Stanhope, West and New Cobham. Two new Day Houses (Cheshire and Winton) will open in September 2019. Future developments also include a state-of-the-art Design, Technology and Engineering Centre as well as significantly enhanced indoor sports’ facilities to complement the seventy-five acres of playing fields, all-weather pitches, athletics track, golf course and Equestrian Centre. Our commitment to communication, leadership, information technology and international awareness ensures that pupils are well-equipped to succeed in an increasingly pluralist, complex and competitive adult world. The Twenty-First Century makes ever greater demands for the qualities and values instilled by an education at Stowe. Current and future pupils will eventually join the pantheon of Old Stoics which includes President of the Old Stoic Society, Matthew Vaughn, and illustrious alumni such as Leonard Cheshire, Kate Reardon, Richard Branson, George Melly, Henry Cavill, Marc Koska and David Niven. To ensure our offering of a rounded educational experience, Stowe employs around 500 full and part-time employees with some members of the team and their families living on site which means a truly community, family orientated offering. Stowe School occupies Stowe House and approximately 200 acres of the Stowe estate, and is located in Stowe’s world-famous landscape gardens set in 880 acres. Stowe School is an independent co-educational boarding School with approximately 870 pupils. There are around 400 full and part-time staff with 80 staff and their families living on site. In January 2021, Winchester House and Swanbourne House Schools became part of The Stowe Group. The schools occupy sites of historical significance in Swanbourne, in the market town of Brackley and in the beautiful gardens at Stowe, where we work with The National Trust to manage the landscape gardens and open the grounds to over 200,000 visitors a year. Stowe House is also open to the public during the school holidays.
