Thriving communities. Healthy cities. A brighter future. What we do is more than deliver major projects, we work every day to make the world better for everyone. If you want to join a company invested in you and your success, join us as a Senior Construction Manager. We want you to be empowered to deliver the boldest solutions for everyday living.
As a Construction Manager you will support the successful delivery of design packages by providing constructability expertise, primarily during the Outline design and Consent phases. You will lead a team of construction managers and provide expertise to help create the construction strategy, phasing, methodology and programme, taking account of and integrating emerging environmental and logistical constraints and construction best practise.
The role will also involve liaison between other Jacobs departments, disciplines, contractors and external agencies.
You will be required to provide technical input on multiple facets of constructability throughout the development of the design of a project, including:
Responsibilities will entail leading the constructability input for specific projects including drafting option assessments matrices, assessing construction risks with proposed mitigations and provision of best practise advice. The post holder will therefore be able to work unsupervised, take initiative on their own and have an eye for detail when reviewing proposed schemes.
You will need a good level of health, safety and environmental experience as a key responsibility of the role is to identify risks in these areas, proactively lead projects in navigating these considerations, and advise on appropriate mitigation options.
The Construction Manager is required to co-ordinate, co-operate and liaise with other Jacobs departments, contractors, clients and potentially external bodies for the purposes of design development. As such, you will require confidence, good communication and management skills to ensure that the constructability input is conveyed appropriately and given due consideration.
You will have substantial experience in working within the delivery of capital projects and will come from a civil engineering construction background. The role would suit an experienced civil engineer looking to transition into professional services.
An Engineering Degree or Diploma is normally required. Possible exceptions may be considered where the supporting track record demonstrates the equivalent level of construction knowledge and experience. Membership and professional accreditation with a relevant professional institution is highly desirable
