Job Description

Responsible to the Chief Executive for the acquisition and management of resources of the organization within the established policies and strategic objectives.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

1 Leadership

1.1 Provides positive leadership for all staff and volunteers to attain maximum effectiveness and efficiency in all areas within the resources remit.

1.2 Ensures the security, maintenance and safety of all assets and estates within the ownership of the organization, by working co-operatively with staff, volunteers and users of the building.

2 Management

2.1 Within the Senior Management team contributes to the overall management of the organization

2.2 Within the Senior Management team reviews infrastructure including maintenance of established systems and documentation, develops new systems and areas of improvement as the need arises.

2.3 Supervises, supports and ensures the training of the Resources Assistant

3 Financial

3.1 Ensures management and control of the financial affairs of the organization and

produces monthly Management Accounts

3.2 Ensures up-to-date knowledge of the necessary financial regulation relating to the organization.

3.3 Responsible for the day to day accounting and preparation of management accounts.

3.4 Liaison with Operational Manager on financial matters in regard to Services

3.5 Preparation of annual budgets.

3.6 Preparation of annual accounts in preparation for audit.

3.7 Liaison with auditors.

3.8 Oversees the acquisition of assets.

3.9 Oversees financial tasks carried out by other members of staff.

4 Development

4.1 Involvement in, and preparation of financial aspects of tenders and grant applications.

4.2 Within the Senior Management team is involved in the strategic vision and the exploration of new opportunities within the scope of the organization’s charitable objectives.

4.3 Within the Senior Management team is involved in the development of the organizational strategic and business plans.

4.4 Within the Senior Management team evaluates proposals for additional and/or new activities ensuring practicality and budget viability.

4.5 Carries out the project management of estate expansion.

4.6 Establishes and maintains good working relationships with other voluntary organizations and statutory agencies with a view to sharing good practices and cost effective working methods.

4.7 Develops partnership working where this would be beneficial to the organization

5 Reporting

5.1 Reports regularly to the Chief Executive and sub groups on all matters appertaining to finance and other resource issues.

5.2 Attends meetings internally and externally with outside agencies, reporting on results to the Chief Executive and sub groups as required.

5.3 In liaison with the Chief Executive, ensures appropriate levels of reporting to the Charities Commission, Companies House, statutory agencies and funders as required.

5.4 Instrumental in the preparation of the Annual Report and Accounts.

6 Public Relations/Marketing

6.1 To participate in the public relations activity of the organization.
