Job Description

Main Responsibilities for the role

  • Reporting to the Head of Business Controlling;
  • Be a true partner to business/product owners
  • Work with the business management team to develop short and long term goals and objectives for the area;
  • Make recommendations to management; represent finance on working groups; providing management information, accounting advice, finance know-how to other areas of the business
  • Own and drive of financial processes for the area of responsibility, including reporting of actuals, forecasting, budgeting and management of P&L, Balance Sheet and Order Entry
  • Work proactively with product controllers to provide a comprehensive accounting service and ensure management accounting is used to inform and challenge management actions and decisions;
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting entries;
  • Support Interco reconciliation and resolve interco mismatches with our company entities;
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports;
  • Perform financial information checks and controls for the monthly actual and forecast figures, and for budget;
  • Review and analyze cost by nature and provide commentary for consolidation;
  • Review results, prepare commentary for Month End close meetings and review with WL UK CFO;
  • Oversee Balance Sheet reconciliations for own remit;
  • Drive Order Entry reconciliation for own remit;
  • Oversee stock reconciliation and reporting;
  • Liaise with operations to ensure accuracy and timeliness of invoicing
  • Support cash collection efforts (liaise with Credit Mgmt and operations)
  • Contribute to internal and external audits;
  • Ensure compliance to UK&I GRD and master data requirements;
  • Document and maintain accounting manual and procedures for own remit.
  • Coach and mentor direct reports
  • Manage a virtual team and oversee the training and development of junior staff to maintain/improve relevant skill levels within area of responsibility

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified; Minimum 5 years accounting/controlling experience essential. Desire/ambition to learn, develop a further a career in finance; Ability to quickly build rapport with key stakeholder and with the senior management team. A good understanding of SAP (or other accounting system) is a must; Good Excel modelling skills (demonstrable prior experience); Analytical with strong attention to detail; Good communication skills (oral and written); Pragmatic approach to decision making; Pro-active and able to demonstrate initiative; Adapts to changing circumstances and takes a positive approach to dealing with change; Consistently demonstrates leadership and commitment; Understand implications of decisions and actions on overall business profitability; Confident in internal and external interactions; Takes ownership and follows through on decisions and actions; Confident to speak up, challenge constructively and share his/her views; People leadership experience preferred; Willing to coach and mentor direct reports.
