Job Description

The successful candidate will be proficient in the use of SAGE and be responsible for the day-to-day handling of the accounts. We are flexible with hours and times of work but you will be required to work in the office.

Responsibilities & Duties

Maintaining financial records in Sage 50 Accounts Professional, preparing VAT returns, and overseeing the financial health of the company. Preparing financial statements for review by the company's accountant.

  • Recording financial transactions.
  • Handling accounts payable.
  • Completing VAT returns.
  • Maintaining company ledgers.
  • Appropriately coding payables to prepare them for the accountant's input later.
  • Filing historical records and retrieving necessary documents as needed for others.
  • Researching and complying with accounting requirements as they pertain to the company's operations and financial activities.
  • Monitoring debt levels and ensuring compliance with debt covenants.
  • Preparing information for auditors.
  • Providing administrative and clerical support as needed.
  • Additional bookkeeping duties as designated by management.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must have experience using SAGE 50 Accounts Professional. High IT affinity and pronounced numerical understanding and data entry skills. Knowledge of Accounting Principles. An able problem solver with good attention to detail. Organization. Punctuality. Confidentiality. Experience of and skills in using Xero (we plan to move to Xero in the future). An interested in the IT MSP industry. The above skills and experience will be used to measure and assess candidates and decide an initial starting salary for the successful candidate. It is therefore in your interests to demonstrate how you meet our requirements throughout the recruitment process. Experience: Bookkeeping: 3 years (Preferred). Xero: 1 year (Preferred). SAGE 50 Accounts Professional: 1 year (Required).
