Job Description

Shift Pattern: 4 On 4 Off, 19:00-07:00
(A degree of flexibility is required in order to meet the demands of the business)
We are looking for a Traffic Clerk to join the team at our Lutterworth depot.
As a Traffic Clerk, you will help with administrative control of the movement of our customer/supplier volume and facilitate the allocation of equipment and loads to, and the dispatch, monitoring and debrief of, drivers, agency drivers and contract hauliers.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure all inbound, outbound and direct volume information is tallied accurately on all systems and anomalies are investigated
  • Ensure outbound load plans are built accurately on our systems and those of our customers
  • Produce driver manifests and briefing documents as required
  • Brief and debrief drivers on their allocated work and requirements, by ensuring that they have their correct paperwork including booking references and instructions and that they have correctly recorded their hours worked in line with legal requirements.
  • Monitor direct collection and delivery loads for DOT achievability and supplier conformance
  • Raising alerts as necessary for drivers who have not worked minimum hours or contravened EU hours
  • Raising alerts for Enforcement Authority stops and non-payment of tolls
  • Ensure incomplete GTS jobs are dealt with and system is cleared down daily

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience of using IT packages including Microsoft Office Word and Excel – intermediate skills. Experience of organizing work activity. Basic geographical knowledge. Experience of working to challenging deadlines in a pressurized environment.
