Medical Secretary

Job Description

This role’s particular focus on providing a first class secretarial service to organization. You will also support and cover across other admin roles to ensure the smooth running of the organization for patients. As a contact for patient and staff on admin/secretarial queries, you will provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and approachable image to patients and other visitors, either in person, via the telephone, e-mail or letter.

In addition to general reception duties the post-holder, under the direction of the Admin Manager and Managing Partner will undertake duties as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
You will have previous experience of working with the general public and be able to work without constant supervision. Ideally you will have experience of medical terminology. You will have an education to A Level or above qualifications (or equivalent), be RSA II or above in audio/typing, have experience of working with clinical software and ideally used SystmOne/Lexicom/other similar systems. You will also have at least 1 year’s experience as a secretary in a healthcare environment. Experience: healthcare environment: 1 year (Required). secretarial: 1 year (Required). Education: A-Level or equivalent (Required).
