Job Description

The successful candidate will be expected to provide detailed analysis of critical business data to discover trends and useful information and suggest conclusions which support strategic decision-making. In addition to this, the post holder will be expected to provide high quality, relevant and timely reports and identify areas for report enhancement which will help improve the visibility of our commercial performance. The role will involve liaising directly with senior sales and operational staff assisting them to make well informed and timely decisions. A typical day in the role of the Commercial Analyst will include

  • Provide in-depth pricing Analysis for our Sales teams, allowing them to respond to customer requests in a timely manner
  • Customer profitability analysis for both existing and new customers
  • Preparation and analysis of long term and package rates
  • Monitoring of proposed rates to customers to ensure these adhere to company policy
  • Analysis of new products and utilization analysis across different product ranges
  • Rebate calculations and proposals
  • Approval of contract amendments and customer quotes
  • Producing ad-hoc reports for the Head of Commercial and Finance Director

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience working in a Commercial/Business Analyst role and the ability to produce quality data evaluation reports to support strategic decision-making. A relevant Business degree or CIMA qualification is highly desirable. Proven numeracy and financial capability with exceptional Excel and MS Word skills. Proven stakeholder management skills with the ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels, both internally and externally. Proactive approach to workload and ability to perform under pressure when working to tight deadlines. The ability to take ownership of making recommendations and decisions on the information being presented.
