Job Description

The Project Management Analyst will support Project Managers to manage on a day to day basis the delivery of a number of business change or technology projects and the associated business change activities. The Project Management Analyst has a key role in supporting the Project Manager to ensure the successful delivery of the required outcomes, including the appropriate governance and assurance, monitoring progress, managing risks and issues and ensuring the business readiness for change.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the Project Manager to deliver change, with day to day running of the project, performing project administration including meeting preparation, co-ordination and minute-taking of project related tasks.
  • Support the Project Manager to track progress against the project milestone plan and assist the Project or Programme in enforcing the completion of tasks identified in the project plan.
  • Support the Project Manager to maintain project financial forecast, liaising with the Financial Management team, to ensure project forecasts are current and correct.
  • Support the Project Manager to ensure projects remain within governance and stage-gate reviews through compliance to the project management standards, methodologies and practices.
  • Support the Project Manager to track and record project risks, issues, dependencies, conflicts, priorities, lessons learned and close down activities.
  • Support the Project Manager to report on project (s) status through agreed reporting lines, using the agreed technology, adhering to timelines and tracking changes through the controlled change process, including preparation of quality Board packs.
  • Support the Project Manager to identify key stakeholders and support collaborative working across internal and external project team.
  • Support the Project Manager to manage the required ongoing capacity planning activities.
  • Support the Project Manager in the development of the Business Case and in tracking and monitoring the Business Case benefits throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and developing working best practices, for self and others within the project management community.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience of working in a project environment and in project management methodologies and practices is desirable. Good communication skills, written, verbal and presentation. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships. Competent in using - MS Office suite, including PowerPoint, Excel and MS Project (Online). Strong organizational, administrative and planning skills. Ability to manage and priorities own work and deliver to strict deadlines Relevant academic and professional project management qualification or equivalent experience. Collaboration skills are required to be successful in this role.
