Job Description
You will be responsible for accounting and reporting of the Investment portfolio including supporting the month end process, regulatory returns, and Group reporting. You will report to the Finance Manager, and depending on performance will have opportunities to obtain experience and expand into other areas in Finance.
- Maintain the investment accounting system, SAP IMA, ensuring all trades, corporate actions are processed
- Completion of the month end process including completion of reconciliations between investment accounting system general ledger and the, custodian and asset manager
- Delivery of group reporting requirements
- Assist Finance Manager with preparation of reports and presentations for quarterly Board of Director meetings and monthly relevant sub-committee meetings
- Manage the implementation of IFRS 9
- Prepare and circulate key monthly management investment information
- Prepare of Solvency II returns including providing input into the solvency and financial conditions report (SFCR) and the regulatory supervisory report (RSR)
- Conduct market, economic analysis and competitor analysis
- Prepare and coordinate third party statutory returns
- Maintain excellent working relationships with customers across the business and externally
- Assist the Finance Manager by:
- Continuous review and updating of procedures to ensure they are current, complete and reflect best practice.
- Evaluating and suggesting enhancements to further automate procedures for financial reporting.
- Assisting in projects to improve the efficiency, quality and accuracy of deliverables.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
You will be a self-motivated, ambitious, self-starter who has the ability to work on their own initiative and within a team. In addition, this person must have an ability to manage numerous deadlines and will take responsibility for seeing all jobs through to completion or final review by finance management. The individual will be expected to develop strong working relationships with key business stakeholders across the organization.
- Demonstrated experience of coordinating and delivering highly accurate output in an environment of multiple deadlines
- Proficient in excel, including building formulas, using pivot tables, formatting and manipulating data
- Proven ability to manage and complete a variety of projects simultaneously.
- Working knowledge of investment accounting, current issues and regulatory reporting requirements
- Big 4 Qualified accountant
- Prior experience within a financial services environment
