Job Description

To develop and grow the client base, providing additional services to existing clients, and actively seeking new business in the local area. To lead, support and develop your team to ensure our clients are receiving an excellent client experience. You will have gained experience working in a practice environment, and ideally be ACCA/ACA qualified (or similar) and have an excellent working knowledge of current tax and accounting issues affecting small to medium sized owner managed businesses. We are a focused on using the latest technology available, so experience of cloud accounting products such as QuickBooks, Xero, and Futrli would be an advantage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide excellent service, support and business advice for a varied portfolio of clients
  • Review work prepared by your team to ensure it meets Company's standards and deadlines
  • Preparation of annual accounts, management accounts, corporation tax returns
  • Prepare and submit personal tax returns
  • Provide technical accountancy, taxation and tax planning advice and support to clients
  • Attend and conduct client meetings/prepare meeting notes and complete related tasks
  • Liaise and support clients in person, by telephone and email, etc.
  • Deal with enquiries and assist client
  • Build positive relationships with clients in day to day work
  • Identify areas to develop new business or offer additional services and follow these opportunities through to ensure implementation
  • Promote the services of the business to clients and potential clients
  • Take on new clients and actively grow the business through referral
  • Train and monitor performance of your team to ensure standards, compliance and service are maintained
  • Assist your team with managing their workloads to ensure deadlines are met
  • Provide technical support and advice for junior team members
  • Lead team meetings and attend regularly Management meetings on KPIs, team and business performance and improvements
  • Assisting management team with priority tasks and adhoc projects

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • ACCA/ ACA qualified or QBE
  • You will have developed your career to at least experienced Senior or Managerial levels
  • A minimum of 3 years practice experience and possess a good wealth of SME accounting and tax regime knowledge
  • Good IT Skills and a working knowledge of the following accounting packages; Taxcalc and Iris
  • Strong management, communication and organization skills
  • Confident and professional manner – ability to work face to face with clients from Day One
  • A balanced character who can lead and influence as part of the senior accounts team
