Job Description

You will be key in providing a good first impression of the department to staff and visitors. We are looking for individuals who can provide a professional and customer focused reception service. You will enjoy delivering excellent customer service and take pride in your working environment. You should have previous experience in a customer facing role, preferably with previous administrative or reception experience in an academic environment.

The role will also involve providing general administrative support to members of the department which will include tasks such as: responding to queries, photocopying, preparing documents, assisting with meeting arrangements and room bookings.

You will work closely with key sections in the department, primarily Facilities, HR and IT.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

This is the perfect role for candidates with good communication and interpersonal skills, who are team players, with a can-do attitude and can remain calm when dealing with multiple tasks. If you are a natural problem solver and enjoy helping others, we would love to hear from you. Applicants will need a friendly, outgoing personality with good customer service skills to support our busy Reception. You will be educated to GCSE level standard including Math and English/NVQ Level 2 or have equivalent qualifications or equivalent level of practical experience. You should be competent in standard IT packages e.g. word, excel and outlook.
