Job Description

The requirement is to reliably cover daily 8-hour shifts between 9am-5pm throughout the season and will include working some weekends and bank holidays and working during school holidays. There will be also be an ongoing requirement for flexibility in covering each other for holidays, sickness, etc.

Being positioned front of house you will be the first point of contact for customers both face to face and over the phone and will be on hand to answer their questions and to take reservations. You will be required to perform business administration duties and undertake day to day reception duties. This role is pivotal in the success of the overall sales function, you will be joining a successful and welcoming team and reporting to the Centre manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF APPOINTMENT

  • Putting safety first.
  • Support the Centre in consistently delivering a high-quality product.
  • Support the Centre remains budget focused.
  • Present yourself in line with the company standards including delivering a high level of customer service.
  • General Admin duties, including data entry and taking bookings, as and when necessary.
  • Taking bookings over the phone, confidently answering any customer queries, and sending required documentation to customers.
  • Being first point of call for customers and delivering a professional company image at all times.
  • Making sure the appropriate paperwork is completed before customers undertake any outdoor activities (e.g. consent form)
  • Taking detailed enquiries for corporate and school/youth groups.
  • Selling products and items to clients from the onsite tuck shop.
  • Cash handling and using the till.
  • Being knowledgeable about services and products we offer to confidently answer customer queries.
  • Being a key holder and performing opening and closing duties from time to time.
  • Supporting the Centre with administration tasks.
  • Maximizing sales of Centre specific products, merchandise and tuck.

Any other reasonable duties commensurate with your role and level of remuneration, which may from time to time be required by the business.

PAY AND REMUNERATION

  • National living wage (£9.50/hr. from April 2022).
  • Equivalent to 28 days holiday (Pro Rata) including bank holidays (you may be required to work some).

WORKING HOURS

  • 8-hour shifts (9am-5pm), covering 7 days a week (on Rota).

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Basic IT skills (experience using Microsoft packages such as word, excel etc.).
  • An exceptional telephone manner.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • A Proactive approach to all tasks and a willingness to support the team over busy periods.
  • Willing to participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
  • A passion for outdoor activities.
  • A minimum of 6 months administration or sales support experience.
  • Basic knowledge on activities and services we provide.
