Job Description

You will perform system integrity reconciliations and various control procedures as allocated, to ensure the established control environment is maintained in accordance with global and regional governance, and support the Ledger Maintenance function by opening certain sub-branches, transits and accounts within the general ledger and sub-ledgers. 

What will you do?

  • Prepare and distribute daily and monthly account and inter-systems reconciliations for key products and liaise with counterparts to investigative and clear breaks, e.g. Subledger to Main Ledger recs, others as allocated
  • Monitor balances in key control accounts, suspense, other as allocated, and follow up on outstanding balances to ensure these are cleared in a timely manner
  • Prepare monthly ledger accounts Attestation summaries for accounts under ownership
  • Support and assist with the trading books, business unit, ledger mappings, and account opening process within the general ledger and sub-ledgers
  • Assist in daily clearance of sub-ledger error que
  • Analyze existing processes, propose and implement process improvement ideas.
  • Utilize productivity tools to streamline and automate processes owned by the team
  • Collaborate with Finance Change, IT and other Finance teams to drive process optimization
  • Extracting, standardizing and optimizing business processes and related reporting

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Part- qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA accountant or graduate level candidate wishing to study towards chartered qualification
  • Banking and financial services experience together with basic knowledge of the accounting principles and banking products preferred
  • Experience in reconciliations, investigations and resolution of unreconciled items preferred but not essential
  • High degree of analytics skills with strong attention to detail/accuracy
  • Strong PC skills, and in particular, advanced ability in Excel is essential, familiarity and basic understanding of MS Access desirable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
