About Us

This a new post and an exciting opportunity to play an important part and add value to the work of the Pers SY (A) Sec team by helping with development, processing and support functioning at a time of innovation and change in the vetting world. You will be a team player supporting the 2 officers responsible for operations and coordination, assisting both with the many associated administrative activities including research and analysis to support the decision processes required to ensure excellent outcomes are maintained. With training you will become competent in the many aspects of vetting requirements and processes and be expected to provide advice to those seeking the team’s support. Adaptive and willing to get involved you will gain broad experience and be prepared to be involved outside your immediate remit including taking over more general office responsibilities in the absence of staff members; for example, whilst they are on holiday. It is vital you have initiative, energy, are adaptable, have inner confidence and good interpersonal and communications skills. You must be discreet. After time you will find yourself a sought-after point of contact for the Secretariat and be required to establish and maintain first class relationships with all the departments and units with whom the Secretariat works: face to face, by email, Skype or other mediums. Queries will be varied, and you will need to have the ability to be flexible in your thinking and thoughtful in your response. You will be required to help organize, manage, monitor and record casework submitted by both Army and other departments. This helps to ensure Army personnel who are due to be re-assigned to other positions or operational deployments hold the right and valid national security vetting clearances to avoid disruption and unnecessary turbulence to both the individual and the Army. Additionally, you will help develop systems (mostly electronic) and databases to ensure accurate records are kept and maintained for future reference when required.
