St John Ambulance is the nation’s leading first aid charity. Every year, more than 400,000 people learn how to save a life through our training programmes, including hundreds of thousands of young people. Our volunteers provide first aid in their communities, keeping people safe at events, and working alongside the NHS in response to 999 calls. We’re also always campaigning to raise awareness of first aid and directly educate the public. The Museum of the Order of St John, its collections, historic buildings and the compelling stories they tell chart the history of the Venerable Order of St John, from its origins in 12th century Jerusalem to the current-day work of St John Ambulance. The Museum cares for an accredited collection of over 60,000 diverse and historic objects, and buildings including a magnificent Tudor gatehouse in Clerkenwell, and a 12th century crypt, the sole surviving piece of the extensive St John Priory on the outskirts of the City of London. St John Ambulance works at the heart of communities, providing first aid, keeping people safe at events and working alongside the NHS in response to 999 calls. Every year, hundreds of thousands of people learn how to save a life through our training, education and youth programmes. Over the next decade, we have bold ambitions to help transform out-of-hospital care, having a positive impact on the people we treat and the communities we serve. We are a team of 1,600 employees and 18,000 volunteers, united by our goal of saving lives through first aid.
