Founded more than 10 years ago by an ophthalmology patient and a leading surgeon, our vision is a society where everyone can access free or affordable world class treatment for advanced eye conditions without unnecessary delay or worry. This means that, not only do we carry out safe and effective treatments, we also make sure that our appointments are as quick, easy and fuss-free as possible. By creating a national network of specialist eye clinics and working closely with all optometrists and GPs, we aim to revolutionise the care and treatment of patients facing the prospect of sight loss. We provide services for NHS CCGs, NHS Trusts and Foundation Trusts, and other providers of NHS-funded services, caring for more than 120,000 patients a year in more than 23 services across England. To support our work to improve eye health services for patients in the community, Specsavers, the largest optical provider to the NHS, made a major investment in a partnership with Newmedica in 2016. • Newmedica Plymouth is one of the newest services in the Newmedica family, opening in August 2022. Our purpose-built eye health clinic and surgical centre provides the latest eye health services to our growing patient population.
