About Us

CEO Niki Scordi Founded 1998 Company size 51 to 200 Revenue £730k to £4m (GBP) Industry Non-profit & NGO Headquarters London Link Advance Charity website Established in 1998, Advance is an award-winning innovative non-profit organisation supporting women and girls experiencing domestic abuse and those women in the criminal justice system, enabling them to live safe, violence-free and equal lives. We are at the forefront of developing whole-system change services, establishing the first teams working within statutory settings to reach women and girls such as in police stations, hospitals, social care and probation services. We are a passionate and dedicated team who believe in empathy, empowerment, collaboration and innovation and accountability. These qualities characterise our work with women and girls experiencing trauma, reaching over 6,000 women and their children each year. The organisation has recently expanded its services, with annual income of £4m and approx. 90 staff working across London. Advance is an award-winning and innovative women-only organization, established in 1998, providing emotional and practical support to women and girls survivors of domestic abuse and supporting women with short-term sentences to reduce offending. We believe in empowering women and girls to lead safe, non-violent, equal lives so that they can flourish and contribute to the community. Our values are to listen and support, to empower and respect, collaboration, innovation, and accountability. As a result of significant growth to £8.3m income and circa 160 staff, Advance is now able to provide vital specialist women’s services across London and in partnership on national projects. We specialize in a range of services which support women and girls’ survivors of domestic abuse, through our Hammersmith offices and at co-located offices across five London boroughs. Our domestic abuse services are available to girls and women regardless of ethnicity, sexuality, or immigration status. A vital part of our work is crisis intervention, for women requiring urgent help and in imminent danger. Our services are free and confidential. Over 8 years ago we expanded our services to include supporting women with short-term offences, many of whom are also survivors of domestic abuse and violence, to reduce or end offending, across London. Our goal is to divert women from the Criminal Justice System at the earliest opportunity and prevent families breaking down as a result. We believe that the criminal justice service is built for men, so it is important that a safe, woman-only service is available.
