Smarkets was founded to fix betting. We have built an in-house exchange platform for betting and trading on sport and politics. We operate two main consumer products - the Smarkets exchange and SBK sportsbook app - in the UK, US, and other global markets. We are looking for a temporary Finance Director to lead the team responsible for the operational finance function and ensure Smarkets finance department is running effectively. The ideal profile is a qualified accountant with a strong experience as a Financial controller or Finance manager ready to take the next step in their career. Overseeing a small finance team (currently two direct reports), the successful candidate must be ready to be hands-on and involved in implementing new processes, controls, and systems. We believe that no task is too small for this person and you will take full ownership of the daily finance function and team development while supporting the leadership team with strategic business decisions.
